Information
Cancer Council Victoria is a leading, not-for-profit organisation that has been at the forefront of cancer control since 1936. With a mission to prevent cancer, empower people, and save lives, Cancer Council Victoria offers hope to the 38,000+ Victorians diagnosed with cancer each year.
One in two Victorian’s will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. Because that’s too many, we are committed to delivering bold, evidence-based programs that tackle all cancers. To do this, we fund the best and brightest researchers in the state investing more than $26 million in world-class research every year.
Our work focuses around our four goals Prevent, Detect, Care, and Research.
From leading anti-smoking and sun safety campaigns to advocating for healthier environments and equitable access to screening, we are relentless in our attempt to reduce cancer risk.
We also provide compassionate, practical support through our 13 11 20 Cancer Support service, helping people with cancer, and their loved ones to navigate the emotional, financial, and physical challenges of cancer.
We work closely with communities, health professionals, and policymakers to ensure that no one is left behind, especially those in vulnerable or underserved groups.
With almost 90 years of experience, a passionate network of supporters, and a deep commitment to equity and innovation, Cancer Council Victoria continues to lead the charge toward a cancer-free future.
