Breakout 3B: Achieving meaningful impact in fragile contexts
Information
PSD has a long history and a substantial body of evidence in relatively stable contexts. There is less awareness of PSD approaches in more volatile contexts affected by conflict and forced displacement, despite many successful programme interventions. This session highlights the results from three mature programmes that have adapted PSD to different fragile contexts, including: areas with long-term refugees and IDPs; areas gradually moving out of conflict; and areas in which PSD programmes must coexist with large humanitarian responses. The discussion will cover the adaptations made by the programmes to suit the context, the lessons learned, how these populations are different, and why the PSD approach was worth it.
