Information
NOVA is the world’s first printer designed for creating soft, stretchable, and conformable electronics. From printed on-skin sensors to clothing that can measure your heart rate (yet go through the gentle cycle in your washing machine), NOVA bridges the gap between what we can do and what we wish we could do with electronics. It’s a first-of-its-kind machine that provides users with the freedom and ability to experiment with most screen-printable materials. Its applications are almost limitless.
NOVA’s technology is direct-ink write, extrusion printing, which means you can print material exactly where you want it, and nowhere else. Traditional subtractive methodologies are great for traditional electronics — but the future of electronics is additive. Technology shouldn’t be a limiting factor in bringing your ideas to life, and with NOVA, it isn’t.
NOVA features
- It has a semi-automated calibration routine which means it no longer takes months to dial-in print settings for new materials.
- The Vacuum Table and custom fixturing elements allow you to directly print onto soft, flexible, 3D printed, and unevenly shaped materials.
- NOVA uses a Smart Dispenser to sense the pressure, temperature, and viscosity of any ink or screen-printable material inside it — which is a fancy way of saying NOVA is so precise, you can print anything on everything.
- An intelligent integrated vision system allows you to align and inspect prints quickly using an onboard camera with AR print overlay features.
- Built to be modular, NOVA grows with you and for you. Two modules — the Smart Dispenser and Smart Probe — are included with the base platform at launch, with additional modules on the product roadmap.
