Safe Havens Meeting 2026 - SEA Differently: An Asian Lens on Artistic Freedom

The annual Safe Havens Meeting is an initiative of Swedish association, SH|FT. In partnership with Living Arts International, this year Safe Havens is being organised in Southeast Asia for the first time, with the theme SEA Differently: An Asian Lens on Artistic Freedom. The meeting aims to expand discussions beyond the crisis conversations that often dominate international forums on artistic freedom and rather look at what can be done to strengthen creative expression, creative agency and the status of the artist, particularly in the context of Southeast Asia. The program is co-curated by SH|FT, LAI (including Mekong Cultural Hub and Cambodian Living Arts), RADAR and local host, CICADA.
