Procter & Gamble has a long history of leveraging strategic external collaborations to drive R&D innovations. One strong example is the P&G’s Connect & Develop program. This talk will describe how a team of scientists at P&G drove product performance insights via a C+D collaboration with Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Through our journey we developed a state-of-the-art deep learning approach to reconstruct high-resolution Raman images from low-resolution images with a limited dataset. Our approach is both practical and cost-effective, saving time and resources to collect this data without compromising the spectral integrity. I will describe how these teams at P&G and Oak Ridge worked together to achieve this & demonstrate the importance of externally focused partnerships in industry.
