** A WELCOME LETTER FROM THE EDITOR OF NURSING TIMES, STEVE FORD**

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to Nursing Times Careers onLine. Today is all about helping you take the next step in your career and is designed to make it easy for you to meet potential new employers.

Just like our physical events, the day is all about helping you make the next step on your career journey and is designed to make it easy for you to meet potential new employers. Through our virtual events platform, Swapcard, you will be able to connect with exhibitors, arrange interviews and watch back anything on the programme that you missed.

You will have the chance to ask exhibitors about what it is like to work at their organisation, the training and development opportunities, and what the local area is like and even get a new job – but all from the comfort of your own home.

We also have a great speaker programme, which opens with a keynote presentation from Aditi Chowdhary-Gandhi and Julie Dixon from the Nursing and Midwifery Council that will update delegates on UK nursing standards.

Next will be a panel discussion on moving to the UK and progressing your career as a nurse. Our guest speakers include Ariel Lanada, president of the Filipino Nurses Association (FNA-UK), Maya Guerrero, the FNA-UK’s deputy secretary and regional director for the South East, Coumar Marimouttou, Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS FT and British Indian Nurses Association (BINA) and Charity Gladstone, president of the Malawian UK Nurses Association.

After that we will gain insight into social care nursing during a presentation delivered by Graham Woodham, head of regulated professional workforce at Skills for Care. In addition, we have a session dedicated to the Occupational English Test for healthcare professionals (OET), led by Emma Longden, Senior Regional Marketing Manager at OET.

Last but least, we will finish with a presentation on the Florence Nightingale Foundation’s initiatives for international nurses’ development, featuring the charity’s global directors Stuart Tuckwood and Jeni Caguioa.

After each presentation, you will have the opportunity to take part in a live question and answer session with the speaker.

Thank you to our speakers and all of our exhibitors.

Share your thoughts and tweet using the hashtag #NTCL. Happy job hunting!

Best wishes

Steve Ford
