Information

I wonder if peace knows how to fight is an immersive experience that aims to create an anti-first-person-shooter or a first-person-peace-maker. By using the tropes and strategies of popular 1st person shooter games but providing some unexpected twists and a deeper level of information and participation we want to provide a visceral and transformational experience for the ‘player’/’participant. It is designed as a VR game, but then provides layers of information that create an engaging narrative meant to illicit a level of empathy not required, and in fact perhaps discouraged in traditional fps games.
STORYSCAPESInitiated in 2012 and formally launched in 2013, STORYSCAPES is the first Romanian association focussing transmedia storytelling and unconventional narratives. We have three main paths in focus: the creative playground (creating, producing and launching innovative transmedia franchises and immersive projects, many of which were showcased around the world), the research playground (investigating the impact of transmedia cinematic stories on society through scientific articles, debates and conferences, including book articles at MIT Press or NYU Press), the educational playground (initiating academic programs, workshops, experiments, writemobs at national festivals and universities around the world). We have signed, so far, expanded cinema and transmedia projects (“Government of Children” - transmedia franchise directed by Ioana Mischie, “Cumulonimbus” - an expanded hybrid storytelling project, “Birds in Space” - a research-artistic photographic journey directed by Alina Negoita, “Who are we made of?” - a participative documentary), installations (“Texts are made by those who read them”), electronic literature manifestos (“5 frames for electronic literature”), participative poetry (“Idonee“) . So far, we have facilitated numerous national and international educational events at festivals such as Cannes IFF, TIFF, Kinodiseea IFF, Sofia VR Meetings, MIT and many more. We believe that stories have an expanded impact in the societies we live in and and we therefore aim to contemplate, debate and reshape them in multi-layered long-term compelling forms. We love to combine online-ness and offline-ness into an organic thought-provoking pulse. https://storyscapes.wordpress.com/ https://www.facebook.com/storyscapes/ http://www.storyscap.es/
