Rwanda has achieved rapid economic growth in recent decades, nourishing an attractive business environment with a growing private sector which invites leading global businesses. Rwanda continues to be an attractive location for foreign investment and is inviting foreign investors to help close the finance gap for the achievement of Rwanda's power sector plans.

Endowed with considerable energy resources which have yet to be fully exploited (REG; RDB, 2018) Rwanda has hydro, solar, and methane gas. The country has ambitious policies and strategies for social and economic development. For example, the Government of Rwanda is targeting 100% electricity access by 2024 (52% on-grid, 48% off-grid), currently having around 53% only. Issues of affordability of off-grid solutions persist, but the Government of Rwanda, development partners and the private sector are working together to address this challenge.

More so, Rwanda is an attractive country since it is widely considered a gateway to business in East and Central Africa, with countries like Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and Burundi reachable by road, barely four hours away from Kigali.

Join if you are a Swedish and Rwandan organisation, company or SME in the energy sector working with clean tech, renewable energy solutions and green business initiatives!
