Project Pitch
Digital Twin of Addis Ababa - The project aims to develop a comprehensive digital twin of Addis Ababa to support smarter urban management, climate resilience, and sustainable development. Using remote sensing, aerial mapping, and geospatial data, the project will create a high-accuracy digital representation of the city.
The initiative focuses on improving transportation systems, clean energy planning, water and waste management, and disaster-risk reduction. A collaborative data environment will be established with key national and municipal stakeholders, enabling evidence-based decision-making.
The project includes the development of three strategic planning documents addressing long-term urban challenges, alongside the deployment of smart sensors for continuous monitoring of environmental and infrastructural risks. The digital twin will serve as a permanent planning and risk-management tool, supporting Addis Ababa’s transition toward a smarter, safer, and more resilient city.
