Project Pitch
BIC Ethiopia (Business Incubation) is an EU-funded programme designed to strengthen Ethiopia’s business incubation ecosystem, with a particular focus on agri-tech and agri-business startups and MSMEs. The project addresses structural gaps in incubator sustainability and technical capacity by introducing benchmarked best practices, professionalised operating models, standardised curricula, and improved revenue mechanisms.
The programme enhances the skills and capabilities of incubation hub staff through practical training, organisational development, and ongoing technical support. It also promotes stronger linkages between incubators, private financial institutions, and investors, enabling innovative financing solutions and improved access to capital for growth-oriented enterprises.
By empowering incubators to better support high-potential startups, BIC Ethiopia contributes to increased market access, income generation, and job creation, strengthening Ethiopia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and private sector competitiveness.
