Africa Europe Week
Information
Young people in Africa often face limited opportunities to study and work. Some confront political circumstances, social situations or life conditions that compel them to leave their country of origin. They often embark upon dangerous migration journeys misinformed and ill-prepared, putting their lives at risk. Since May 2017, the EU-IOM Joint Initiative for Migrant Protection and Reintegration has supported close to 107,000 migrants, half of them young people, to return to their communities of origin and re-establish themselves at home.
