Just Transition Platform (JTP) Conference: “Just Transition: Competitive Regions, Resilient Communities”

Organised by DG Regio, the Just Transition Platform (JTP) Conference: “Just Transition: Competitive Regions, Resilient Communities”, taking place on 1 & 2 December 2026 in Brussels and online, will bring together policymakers, regional authorities, community representatives, industry, and civil society to reflect on and shape the future of Europe's just transition.

The conference will highlight the experiences of regions transitioning away from carbon-intensive industries, showcasing how communities, institutions, and businesses are working together to deliver sustainable, inclusive change.

Over two days, participants will engage in high-level discussions and interactive sessions covering key themes such as accelerating the implementation of the Just Transition Fund, strengthening regional resilience, ensuring quality of live and the "right to stay", fostering social acceptance, and promoting economic diversification.

The programme will also explore forward-looking topics, including climate adaptation, the twin green and digital transition, and the EU's role in advancing just transition globally.

By combining policy debate with on-the-ground perspectives, the conference aims to celebrate the achievements of the JTP to date while fostering collaboration, sharing best practices, and inspiring continued action for a fair and inclusive transition across Europe and beyond.
