Yuni has been conducting research in Yokohama/Seoul/Kinosaki, focusing on « violence » and « healing » manifested by individuals living in contemporary society. In the new creation, « Violet,» we will rethink (post/current) colonial violence and the healing from its trauma, crossing past and present.

Through the mysterious physical and mental changes that Yuni experienced in Seoul, fieldwork in Yokohama concerning the Great Kanto Earthquake, and discussions in Kinosaki on the theme of violence, one of our attempts is to approach « healing » today as a narrator with an unstable, unknown body even to oneself rather than an objective, serene one. At YPAM Exchange, Yuni will retrace their research trip and discuss the new performance's conception.
