In the clash between social norms and psychological desires, how close can we get to our emotions and our bodies? Using metaphorical objects as performative tools, Kristy Lai experiments with the distance to ‘intimacy’ in a space where the relationship with the audience is limited to one-on-one, with body monologue and movement improvisation. This installation performance demands/reconstructs the audience’s actions/reactions so as to invite them to various moments of hidden/emerging ‘intimacy’ in and after pandemic times.
