Since its foundation in 1997, Cwmni Da has developed into one of Wales’ foremost production companies. The company’s national and international productions include factual, children, comedy, entertainment, drama, events, and sport programmes.
A leading producer for S4C, Cwmni Da has also delivered content for BBC, C4, TG4 and CGTN and has enjoyed success in the international co-production marketplace. Recent co-productions include ‘Tide,’ a 3 x 60 series co-produced between BBC NI, MG Alba, TG4, S4C and Skyvision.
Cwmni Da productions have won numerous New York festival, ‘One-World media’ and Jules Verne Adventure’ awards, also Bafta Cymru and Celtic Media prizes. The company won highly commended at Broadcast 2019, and shortlisted for a Grierson in 2020 and Bafta Kids UK and RTS.
Cwmni Da is an Employee-Owned business, which reflects our ethos of shared responsibility, our belief in the power of combined effort and our aim to benefit the employees, the local economy and wider community. Based in Caernarfon, north west Wales the company operates bilingually in Welsh and English.
