Breast cancer care: Strengthening quality care through shared action
Information
Few countries are meeting the WHO Global Breast Cancer Initiative (GBCI) mortality reduction goal of 2.5% a year. This Astra Zeneca sponsored session looks at the future of breast cancer care and discusses through a diverse panel, what it might take to reach the ambitious goals of the WHO GBCI. The recent publication of the Global Breast Cancer Care Quality Index in eCancer joins a suite of policy tools which support health systems to prioritize and measure the provision of breast cancer care. The session will give a brief overview of the practical recommendations in the BCCQI, and then through a cross-sectoral panel, evaluate how countries are raising breast cancer early detection and treatment, and how global tools can help move the needle towards the WHO 60:60:80 goals.
