This online event, to be chaired by Prof. Sabina Dizdarevic and Dr. Claire Thornton, will focus on future advancements in osteoporosis management, with a strong emphasis on women's health. Participants will examine evolving practices, including new national guidelines and the integration of artificial intelligence. Expert presenters will address potential gender biases in diagnosis and treatment, and they will explore complex cases involving breast cancer, pregnancy, and other complicating factors. The event will facilitate interactive discussions and case studies, ensuring attendees gain practical insights.
Objectives
- Attendees will gain a future understanding of the latest anticipated national guidelines (NOGG) for osteoporosis management.
- The event will provide insight into how DEXA reporting will be interpreted and utilised from both nuclear medicine and rheumatology viewpoints in the future.
- Participants will explore the future challenges and management strategies for osteoporosis in vulnerable patient groups, such as women with breast cancer and those experiencing pregnancy/lactation-associated osteoporosis.
- The event will address how clinicians will manage complex osteoporosis cases involving factors such as steroid use, eating disorders, and hormonal therapies in the future.
