Kavaklıdere Wines
KAVAKLIDERE WINESKavaklıdere Wines, established in 1929 as the first private-sector wine producer in Turkey, remains a leader in the Turkish wine industry, with the third generation now running the family business. Kavaklıdere aims to produce sustainably made, high-quality wines by promoting indigenous Turkish grape varieties while also cultivating international varieties across the diverse terroirs of Turkey. Kavaklıdere Wines owns a total of 775 hectares of vineyards across eight different sub-regions in the Aegean, Central Anatolia and Eastern Anatolia regions. The company has a total storage capacity of 19.5 million litres across three wineries: Ankara-Akyurt (1987), Cappadocia – Côtes d’Avanos (2003) and Aegean – Pendore (2005). The company has a broad portfolio of 72 different wines across 29 brands, offering consumers a wide range of wine styles and segments, from entry-level wines to premium and signature wines. Since 2009, internationally renowned wine consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt and his team have been consulting for the company. Currently, Kavaklıdere Wines exports 20% of its production to 30 countries and has three branches abroad, in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. As part of its vision to become a global player in the wine industry, Kavaklıdere Wines acquired two wineries and vineyards in France, Château La Croix Lartigue and Château Claud Bellevue, located in Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, at the beginning of 2016, with the guidance of Stéphane Derenoncourt. This marked the beginning of Kavaklıdere’s story in Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux under the Maison Kavaklıdere brand. Kavaklıdere Wines has won nearly 1,800 medals in international wine competitions to date and continues to build on its achievements in the wine world through its production in both Turkey and France.
