Champelrose - Domaine Courbis

Growing from a mixed farm of orchards and vines, this estate now comprises of 35 ha of vines. It sits on the southernmost tip of the Saint-Joseph appellation, bordering Cornas. The grapes come from 2.5 ha of 107-year-old vines combined with a 2-ha plot 30 years old. This age and the poor soils bring a remarkable minerality to Cornas. The careful winemaking of Laurent and Dominique Courbis enhance the violet and liquorice of the Syrah.
