AROMO WINERYHeritage & Foundation Viña Aromo traces its origins to Don Víctor Henríquez Solar, a land-driven visionary deeply rooted in the viticultural traditions of Parral, in Chile’s Maule Valley. In 1936, he acquired a winery originally established in 1922 by French settlers, laying the foundation for what would become a long-term family legacy in winemaking. Built on perseverance and craftsmanship during a period when quality bottling in Chile remained highly challenging, the estate evolved under the leadership of his sons, Manuel and Arturo Henríquez Solar. Their commitment to excellence gradually transformed a family initiative into one of Chile’s most recognized wine producers. Transformation & Global Expansion A decisive shift occurred in the early 1990s following international exposure through a Fundación Chile initiative. This experience revealed the requirements of global wine markets and accelerated a strategic transformation within the company. Substantial investment in modern winemaking technology followed, alongside a progressive redefinition of wine styles aligned with international standards. Today, Viña Aromo produces over 15 million liters for the domestic market and approximately 3 million liters dedicated to export, consolidating its position as a consistent global supplier. Estate Vineyards & Terroir Viña Aromo owns 350 hectares of vineyards distributed across four estate properties in the Maule Valley: El Trapiche, Ventolera, Santa Margarita, and El Pilar. The Maule Valley is Chile’s largest and one of its most historically established wine regions, with viticultural activity dating back to the 17th century. Positioned between the Andes Mountains and the Coastal Range, the region benefits from marked diurnal temperature variation and winter-concentrated rainfall, creating optimal conditions for slow ripening and balanced phenolic development. These conditions allow the production of wines with deep colour, aromatic intensity, and structural concentration across a diverse varietal portfolio, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Carmenère, Syrah, Tempranillo, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier. Winery, Capacity & Quality Assurance The winery is located at the Trapiche estate in Villa Alegre, within Chile’s central wine corridor. It operates with a total storage capacity of 15 million liters and is equipped with advanced bottling, labelling, and production technologies. All processes are executed under strict HACCP certification standards, ensuring full traceability, consistency, and food safety compliance. This integrated approach reinforces Viña Aromo’s position as a reliable partner for international markets requiring high-volume, quality-assured wine supply.
