When conventional dewatering equipment struggles with abrasive, fibrous, oily, or highly mineralized sludge, the ESMIL Roller Press JD keeps the process moving.
Engineered specifically for challenging municipal and industrial applications, the JD reliably processes sludge containing sand, grit, lime, fibers, coarse solids, fats, oils, and other materials that can accelerate wear or cause clogging in traditional equipment. It is an effective solution for water and wastewater treatment plants, food and beverage facilities, automotive and semiconductor manufacturing, biogas plants, and other demanding operations.
Its unique dewatering system combines gravity filtration with progressive compression between two rows of slow-rotating filtering rollers. Alternating stainless-steel and high-strength resin discs continuously clean the filtration openings during operation. This self-cleaning design prevents filter blinding and requires no wash water to keep the rollers clean - reducing water consumption, maintenance, and process interruptions.
Key advantages include:
• Reliable operation with abrasive, fibrous, oily, and high-inorganic sludge
• No rinse water required for roller cleaning
• Low-speed operation - up to 1.5 rpm - for minimal noise, vibration, and component wear
• Main dewatering-unit drive power of up to only 5 HP
• Compact, corrosion-resistant stainless-steel construction
• Simple operation, easy access, and minimal maintenance requirements
• Fixed and mobile skid-mounted configurations
The Roller Press JD can process sludge with feed concentrations from approximately 0.5% to 15% dry solids. Depending on sludge characteristics and dewaterability, cake solids can reach 35–45%. The expanded JD and XJD range offers treatment capacities of up to 1,200 lbDS/h and hydraulic capacities of up to 240 gpm.
