Folk-roots duo Joselyn & Don present music from “Ballad of the Land Forsaken,” an immersive multi-media song cycle designed for intimate venues under 600 seats. Reflecting on the complicated history of the American West, the performance seamlessly weaves original and traditional roots music with evocative visual projections by renowned Native American artist True Archdale and nature photographer/writer Joel Long.
The concert explores our connection to the land and how historical struggles mirror contemporary crises—touching on personal identity, the immigrant journey, and the decimation and resilience of Native peoples and the buffalo.
Deeply moving and thought-provoking, Joselyn & Don’s new work offers performing arts centers a resonant, accessible reflection on memory, place, and shared humanity. Available as an intimate duo or expanded full band.
