Juried Showcase | Emily Day and Cosmo Alleycats

Emily Day and Cosmo Alleycats present "Old Sweet Songs", a show celebrating enduring melodies, a bygone style of song writing, and original songs that contend for placement in the Great American Canon. Our 6-piece band – comprised of piano, upright bass, drums, trumpet, sax, and vocalist (Emily Day) – will perform excerpts from our concert set. In a fifteen-minute showcase, Cosmo Alleycats will offer presenters a range of vibrant arrangements, playful improvisation, and thought-provoking ballads, pulling from the great American Songbook and highlighting our original compositions. Each musician will have their moment to shine while brief banter will complement the story our music tells.
