Gerd is a Mechanical Engineer from Darmstadt University with post-graduation in MBA. During his 29 years of association with Siemens, he has held various positions spanning across Engineering, Project Management, Sales, Business Development and has worked across the globe including Europe, USA, ME & Asia.

Gerd has been closely associated with esteemed multinational companies like Dewa, Mubadala, Saudi Aramco, Saudi Electric Company (SEC), Engie, Marubeni, Aqua – in Gulf area; Shell, NTPC, EIL, NPCIL, L&T, BHEL - in India and BP - in Bangladesh.

He played a significant role in the 3600 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant at Payra – A national interest project of Bangladesh.

Gerd currently Heads the Gas and Power business of Siemens India. In the last 4 years that he spent in India, Gerd has been actively involved in Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and ensured qualification of Siemens Vadodara & Naroda plants for EIL projects.

Gerd is a strong believer of Industrial Digitalization and has been personally involved with NTPC on digitalization initiatives like Advanced Asset Management & Flexible Operations of Thermal Power Plants. He passion is to enable energy transition towards a carbon-neutral society.

Gerd believes in giving back to society and is associated with Sunshine project in Delhi. Golf, table tennis and trombone are some of his favorite hobbies.
