Quarterly Insight: Green Industrialisation, Growth and Resilience
The latest edition of the EABF Quarterly Insight examines how renewable energy is increasingly driving industrialisation, infrastructure development and investment opportunities across Africa.
Drawing on perspectives from leaders across the public, private and financial sectors, this edition explores how energy investments are being linked to value addition, manufacturing, job creation and regional trade. Featured examples include green hydrogen and green iron developments in Namibia, regional power interconnectors in Angola, renewable-powered growth opportunities in Uganda, and innovative hydropower financing models in Rwanda.
The publication also considers the challenges that continue to affect project implementation, including the cost of capital, risk perception and the need to convert promising opportunities into bankable investments. It highlights how the EU–Africa partnership, through initiatives such as Global Gateway and the Africa–EU Green Energy Initiative, is supporting the conditions needed to mobilise private investment and accelerate project delivery.
Readers will find insights on:
• Advancing value addition through the EU–Namibia partnership
• The transformative potential of the Lobito Corridor
• Creating a predictable investment environment in Rwanda
• Uganda’s green growth investment opportunities
• Expanding access to carbon finance
• The role of Global Gateway in unlocking investment
