Temperature Sensor Box

The Temperature Sensor Box from the binder Innovation and Technology Center (ITZ) demonstrates temperature measurement using state-of-the-art sensor technology. Of particular interest is the combination of printed and conventional electronics within a single system, which allows different measurement principles to be compared directly against each other. Printed electronics enable the production of flexible, lightweight temperature sensors that can be applied to films or other thin substrates. These sensors respond to temperature changes and deliver accurate readings. Various printing processes allow the sensor structures to be manufactured cost-effectively and tailored to different applications. Printed temperature sensors are particularly well suited to smart packaging, wearables, industrial surface monitoring, and flexible electronic systems. In addition, temperatures inside the sample box are acquired by conventional electronics, using established sensor ICs and electronic components of the type found in many industrial applications. Combining both technologies makes it possible to compare them directly in terms of accuracy, response time, and flexibility. The result is a forward-looking approach to intelligent temperature measurement systems across a wide range of applications.
