IUMAT, formerly known as imo-imomec, is the Institute for Materials Research of Hasselt University and imec, bringing together chemists, physicists and engineers to bridge the gap between atomic-level science and real-world applications.
Shaping materials, enabling technology
IUMAT develops smart and sustainable material systems that contribute to a healthier and future-proof society. Our research focuses on sensors, sustainable materials, energy conversion, energy storage, sustainable materials, healthcare materials and quantum technologies.
For StreamCoat, IUMAT uses the Spray-on-Screen technology. This technology enables the deposition of polymers, nanoparticles and hybrid materials with coating thicknesses in the nanometre range and offers a future pathway towards scalable roll-to-roll manufacturing.
