Vertige, Manhattan Transfert
Théâtre immersif
Information
Vertige, Manhattan Transfer is an immersive live performance adapted from John Dos Passos’s novel. Through an interactive experience incorporating artificial intelligence, the piece transposes into our contemporary era the sense of vertigo sparked a century ago by the arrival of moving images and the telephone. By confronting the human with the machine, Vertige, Manhattan Transfer explores the impact of technological revolutions on the human psyche and on bodies, driven by music and dance.

Artist / Studio biography
Author-adaptor and stage director, Léonard Matton is currently a 2026 Villa Albertine resident, conducting research on the confrontation between live performers and AI. He is also an associate artist at the Scène conventionnée de Nevers with his company, Emersiøn. As a stage director, his work explores the porous boundary between stage and audience during performance. From Molière, Shakespeare, Ibsen and Strindberg to Feydeau, Ingmar Bergman and Dea Loher, he brings into play the coexistence of dramatic texts and contemporary audiences.
