We’re delighted to continue our involvement with and support of the Student Nursing Times Awards – especially in a year that has seen our communities and profession face so many challenges. Celebrating the achievements, outstanding spirit and commitment of students, educators and practitioners across Nursing and Allied Health is more important than ever.

Following our recognition as the Student Nursing Times Awards Education Provider of the Year (Pre-registration) in 2018, we have continued to pursue our mission to provide research-informed, inspiring and exemplary health care education, from pre-registration through to advanced clinical practice.

Our focus on innovation through research has enabled us to work with partner Trusts and organisations to deliver cutting-edge clinical education. Examples include the Health Education England-commissioned suite of clinically based and academically focussed Clinical Endoscopy CPD modules. The programmes are designed to develop a safe and effective Clinical Endoscopist, by equipping multi-professional students with the knowledge, skills and competences to perform either upper or Lower
Gastrointestinal (GI) Endoscopy and were appropriate, simple or complex Polypectomy. The OGD, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy and progression to Colonoscopy
training programmes enable students to achieve Health Education England Clinical Endoscopist Competence and the required professional JAG qualifications. By educating more professionals, we are moving forward in our collective battle against colorectal cancers.

Other ground-breaking professional development learning opportunities are seen in our partnership with the neurological specialist Walton Centre NHS Trust and our joint
Complex Rehabilitation in a Multi-disciplinary Context CPD module. Dementia care and cardiovascular research are also central to the Faculty’s innovation agenda and offer practitioners the chance to further their knowledge and skill-set.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish heartfelt congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted for an Award this year. We are especially proud of two of our BSc (Hons) Child Nursing students, Neve and Naima, who have been individually shortlisted in the Children’s Nurse category sponsored by Great Ormond Street Hospital Trust. To have one student shortlisted in a category is outstanding – to have two is truly exceptional! Our fantastic students also nominated LJMU in the Best
Student Experience
category; thank you to them for giving up their time to help
our passion for education be recognised on a national stage.

If you would like to learn more about LJMU’s professional top-up degrees, masters level post-registration programmes or CPD modules, please feel free to connect with our team through this platform or by phone/email.
