East Japan Railway Company (JREast) is a train operator, based in Tokyo, Japan.
JR East is in charge of the public transportation system in mainly East Japan region. Within the service area, we have 69 lines, about 7,400 of operation kilometers and about 1,600 stations. We run approximately 12,000 trains for over 12 million passengers per day, and roughly 50,000 staff are working in a wide variety of our railway fields.
