GMNK - Gabinete de Implementação do Projecto Hidroeléctrico de Mphanda Nkuwa

The Mphanda Nkuwa Hydroelectric Project includes the development of a run-of-river dam located 61 km downstream from Cahora Bassa, in Tete Province. It is a hydroelectric power station with an installed power generation capacity of up to 1,500 MW and a 1,300 km high-voltage power transmission line from Tete to Maputo.

The Mphanda Nkuwa Hydroelectric Project is part of the 2018-2043 Integrated Electricity Infrastructure Plan and the SADC Regional Plan, known as the SAPP Pool Plan 2020-2040.
