CAF designs, manufactures and maintains high speed trains, regional and commuter trains, metros units, trams, LRVs and locomotives. Among the latest contracts of the company, highlights include the following projects: - Supply of additional 21 catenary-free Urbos tramways for Birmingham, UK - Supply of 37 metric gauge trains for RENFE, Spain - Supply of 28 trains for the French operator SNCF, France - Supply of 114 new Urbos tramways and the refurbishment of 46 units for the Jerusalem light train project, Israel - Supply of 43 driverless metro trains for the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) by Transport for London (TfL), UK One of CAF's more substantial turnkey projects is Kaohsiung Tramway in Taiwan. CAF has participated in the construction of the first phase of the circular line of the light rail in the city of Kaohsiung. It is a turnkey project in which CAF is responsible for supplying rolling stock, signalling, electrification and the ticketing system. CAF is also responsible for the project management and integration engineering of all the subsystems. At the moment, CAF is manufacturing the new Urbos tramways for Parramatta tram system in New South Wales, Australia. CAF's scope within this turnkey project is the supply of 13 tramway, signalling system, communications and control centre, design and construction of maintenance depot, 16 stations and catenary installation, substations, SCADA and charging point. The project also includes the operation and maintenance of the system for 8 years. The validation of the model of this tramway took place in streaming, in the middle of the first wave of the CoVID-19 pandemic.
