QDEC26 | Brisbane

The Queensland Dance Education Conference (QDEC) is an annual professional development event for dance educators and teachers in Queensland. The conference is produced by the Ausdance Educators QLD subcommittee in partnership with parent body, Ausdance QLD.

QDEC26 will be an inspiring, one-day “for teachers, by teachers” conference that will support P-12 curriculum implementation. Featuring teacher-led practical classes, pedagogical toolkit activities and resource-sharing sessions, this is a one-of-a-kind education event not to be missed.

The conference aims to challenge, enrich, and enhance strong professional networks for dance teachers across all schooling sectors, shaped by what teachers have requested. In 2026, the conference will focus on learning experiences delivered “for teachers, by teachers”, with sessions easily adaptable for primary, middle, and secondary school curriculum contexts.

Participants will experience a dynamic program of hands-on workshops, collaborative knowledge-exchange sessions and practical dance classes designed to strengthen professional practice. Both presenters and delegates will share their individual experiences directly related to their school contexts, including respectfully embedding First Nations perspectives into the curriculum.
