T50 in Rwanda
Projects
Information
Supporting ARC POWER's ambitious project, AlphaESS provided three T50 (50kW) energy storage systems with 162kWh battery capacity of each to help realizing mini-grid for some villages in Bugesera, Rwanda.
Rwanda currently has an estimated national electrification rate of 30%, only 12% in rural areas. Even this number might get lower in some areas of Africa. To deal with the situation, many Africa countries have launched plans for increasing electrification rate using renewable energy. That's the reason why mini-grid is so importance here.
By taking advantage of sufficient sunlight in Africa and advanced energy storage technologies, mini-grid is becoming the key of affordable clean energy to off-grid communities, that benefit from such projects by getting access to clean electricity on a pre-pay, pay-as-you-go basis.
