Description

This competition will include a virtual entry period from February to April 2025. Participants in the virtual competition will record their 3MT presentations and upload them to YouTube before the submission deadline in April 2025, after which five finalists will be selected to give their presentations live during one of the plenary sessions at the 2025 Annual Plant Biology Meeting.

Select members of the ECPS Core team will select the finalists from the virtual competition, and a panel of three judges will select the grand prize winner during the annual meeting. The People’s Choice award winner will be selected via an audience poll and given to the participant with the most votes unless that participant is the grand prize winner, in which case, the award will be given to the participant with the second most votes.

Voting for the People's Choice Award will start at the end of the session and will continue for 24 hours. The link to the ballot will be posted here once voting is open.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Equity, diversity, and inclusion will be ensured by accepting entries for the virtual competition from early career scientists regardless of race, gender, and affiliation. The ECPS will make sure that the competition will be announced early and reach a wide network of audiences to ensure that we can get as many people as possible to join the virtual competition.
