Thigmomorphogenesis in Woody Plants
Sunday, July 27, 2025 10:35 AM to 11:05 AM · 30 min. (America/Chicago)
Grand Ballroom ABC
Information
All plants perceive their mechanical environment, including wind induced motion. Dr. Jaffe coined the term thigmomorphogenesis to describe this effect. This presentation will focus on thigmomorphogenesis in woody plants and the effect dynamic mechanical loading has on growth and development and the potential for trait selection for wind resilient trees.
