Information
Cosmetic products can act as sources of microplastic exposure due to the frequent use of polymer-based ingredients in their formulations. This study focuses on detecting and characterizing microplastics in commercially available eyeshadows. Samples were analyzed using complementary techniques to identify polymer types, additives, and structural features. The results confirmed the occurrence of microplastic particles in several products, with variations depending on brand and formulation. These findings suggest that eyeshadows may contribute to microplastic exposure and highlight the importance of monitoring cosmetic products for potential environmental and human health risks.
