Information

Gas Chromatography (GC) sample introduction techniques such as headspace (HS) are essential tools for the investigation of compounds in many matrices and products that would not be amenable to direct liquid sampler GC injections.

This presentation will demonstrate several benefits using HS to easily obtain information about products and environmental samples. HS is significantly less labor intensive providing enhanced productivity. HS optimizes detection limits because it concentrates the targets using large sample amounts; and it requires little to no solvents rendering the technique environmentally friendly.

This presentation is a learning experience which will introduce the theory, functionality and applications of HS. Several applications will be discussed to enhance the method development experience. It will focus on application in the industrial, environmental, pharmaceutical and food industries.
