Information
Advances in Spectroscopy, Process Analytical Chemistry (PAT) and Quality by Design (QbD) complement the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry. All have a positive impact on process knowledge, control, productivity and sustainability over a wide range of industries. The continuing advances in spectroscopy is driving its acceptance as becoming the major analytical tool that encompasses an ever-widening range of applications. Applications range from Biomedical to Pharmaceutical Development to Hyperspectral Imaging on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for crop monitoring to monitoring and control of simple to complex synthesis of toxic and hazardous material to identifying Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) materials to extraterrestrial studies. Spectroscopy is now used for reducing and ensuring quality of raw material and decrease production losses, ensuring real-time release of quality material and provide fundamental understand of complex problems. Each application aligns with Green Chemistry and Sustainability initiative by limiting waste, lowering or eliminating sample preparation time and exposure, and maintaining tight production control, all to ensure quality without impacting profitability. This presentation will provide an overview on the wide range of applications and set the tone for the entire session.
