Information
Modern defense, security, and investigative operations demand rapid, accurate, and field-ready methods to identify chemical threats in challenging environments. Deep Ultraviolet (DUV) Raman spectroscopy has emerged as a transformative technology for standoff chemical detection, delivering quick and reliable detection capabilities while keeping users far away from hazardous chemical threats. By leveraging excitation in the deep UV range, this technique enhances Raman signal strength while suppressing fluorescence, enabling the reliable detection of low-level explosives, chemical warfare agents (CWAs), toxic industrial chemicals (TICs), and other hazardous materials.
This presentation explores the benefits and operational capabilities of DUV Raman across multiple mission spaces—leveraging its standoff ability being used via handheld, UGV, or UAV platforms. Through real-world demonstrations and mission-driven case studies, it highlights how DUV Raman extends detection range, improves decision timelines, and increases operator safety across military, homeland security, and investigative operations.
