[16 March] Arts Access Shanghai - where do we go from here?

The theme of our gathering is Arts Access Shanghai - where do we go from here? Founded in May 2021, Arts Access Shanghai is a platform to increase access to Shanghai’s cultural institutions for the disabled community through connection, education and advocacy. We have now over 1360 followers on WeChat (China’s No.1 social media platform). After launching our website (www.artsaccess.cn) last year, we are planning to organize a local gathering with people who are interested in the topic of arts and inclusion to reflect on “where do we go from here?”, including what we have done in the past three years, successes and failures, where we are standing now, and most importantly what next actions and steps to be taken. The gathering is scheduled on Saturday, March 16 at the ICICILE SPACE, a creative space in Shanghai. We will do an open call to our followers as well as invite our partners from local cultural institutions, disability communities and artists with disability, altogether around 20-25 people to attend this gathering. We believe this in person gathering is a great opportunity to look into the future together with our colleagues and friends as we are celebrating the three years anniversary of Arts Access Shanghai.
