Welcome to Nursing Times Careers Plus South East (London), the sixth of our exciting new careers event series. We’ve retained all the best aspects of our previous careers fairs, but this year added an array of captivating and immersive activities to assist you in securing your ideal job.

Recognising that nurses often find themselves with minimal time to actively pursue new job opportunities, we have created a Nursing Times Careers Plus to be a one-stop event to help you secure employment opportunities on the very day. You will have the chance to talk to staff about working at their organisation, the training and development on offer, and what the local area is like. If things go well, they may even invite you to an interview there and then!

We also have a great speaker programme and mentor networking opportunities. Our keynote speaker, Melvis Kibuh, is a nurse and career coach. She will deliver a session on equipping and empowering yourself for career success in the NHS. Meanwhile, our career spotlight panel features Paediatric Lead for Specialist Nursing - Clare Paul, Lead specialist nurse - Ferdinand Casunuran and Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist for Head, Neck and Thyroid, Lung and Gynaecology Cancers - Sian Parker.

As ever, we will be hosting our student reception to discuss placements, preceptorship, future careers and much more. Join Alexx Dixon, winner of the Student Nurse or Midwife of the Year: Clinical Research at the 2024 Student Nursing Times Awards, and Nursing Times student editor, final-year mental health nursing student, Soneika Atkinson.

In between speakers, there will be sessions allowing you to meet the recruiters and network, get one-to-one advice from our career clinic or take part in a wellbeing activity, such as our healthy eating session by Nellie Pigot. Plus, you will have the opportunity to win with our prize draw – collect the stickers from the stands. If that wasn’t enough, we are also playing clinical bingo this afternoon, with more prizes on offer in addition to winning a prize through Sap & Win!
