New trends in engineering analysis
This workshop, hosted by Fusion for Energy and Barcelona Supercomputing Center, will serve as a founding event to bring together a European community focused on emerging trends in engineering analysis.
This workshop is held back-to-back with the 6th Fusion HPC Workshop, organised by Barcelona Supercomputing Center on February 24-25 (online). More info here.
Engineering analyses increasingly require high-fidelity computational models, resulting in greater complexity and a growing demand for high numerical performance. The aim of this workshop is to gather specialists in the field to discuss the current state of the art and emerging trends in engineering analysis, with a particular focus on nuclear fusion.
A wide range of analyses is essential for the present and future design of fusion reactors, spanning disciplines such as solid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), neutronics, and more. Consequently, new fields—including high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), and related technologies—are driving the development of advanced modelling paradigms that are critical to our domain.
The workshop will therefore address new trends in engineering analysis, including the application of artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and other enabling technologies.
The main objectives of this workshop are to:
• Identify the existing gaps and trends,
• Facilitate the exchange of knowledge,
• Foster collaboration and partnerships.
The workshop will consist of one session:
• An online meeting on February 26, 2026 (full day).
We look forward to your participation!
Deadline for registration: 25/02/2026
