Sr Manager Software Engineer

Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is a global organization of engineers, developers, designers, and data scientists building the media tech backbone of the company. We’re seeking a Sr. Manager of Software Engineering to lead a high-performing team, focusing on testing, observability, and architectural evolution. You will: Drive best practices in testing (unit, load, pen, automation); identify coverage gaps and implement scalable solutions. Debug across systems and mentor teams. Foster observability culture using operational data to improve reliability. Standardize tools, documentation, and coding practices. Lead architectural evolution, reducing tech debt and driving long-term design. What we need from you: 6–7+ years of engineering management (including managing managers); Bachelor’s in CS/related field (Master’s a plus); fluent English; experience building dev centers and hiring top talent; media streaming, processing, playback, and delivery experience; backend and client development across devices; media ops and infrastructure background; use of external firms for training/sourcing; leading global teams and cross-functional initiatives; LATAM collaboration; strong escalation management; data-driven decision-making; passion for growing teams; ability to travel internationally.
