Innovation in Tunnel Shafts, Excavation and Linings
About this entry
Entry Title
Tamega River Hydropower Complex - Daivoes Tecozam
Long Description of Entry
To this end, the following novelties and innovations will be incorporated with respect to the Full Round formwork designs existing to date: • Design of a new formwork concept, in the form of an adaptable ring for the execution of layouts with constant and variable sections. • Optimisation of productivity thanks to the capacity to carry out complete sections (both constant and variable) of up to 12.5 metres in length, thus avoiding longitudinal construction joints. • High resistance of the design, with system resistances capable of withstanding the thrusts of the concrete with sections of more than 1 metre. • Self-sufficient formwork system that does not require external means for the placement of the traveller and its translation. By means of a hydraulic and electrical system respectively. • The translation system is integrated into the traveller (self-propelled), even for overcoming slopes with a maximum gradient of 10%. • Steel-finish formwork surface to achieve polished finishes suitable for hydraulic surfaces. • Integrated external vibrating system, as well as inspection windows together with incorporated cores developed to guarantee the correct finish and filling of the keystone. • A system of working platforms, both internally and at the back and front, to facilitate access and carry out the different types of activities to be performed during the formworking process: o Treatment of joints. o Forming of joints. o Cleaning. o Access to witnesses and inspection Windows In addition, a unique control of the translation, vibration and formwork placement system is achieved through a control unit. The D5600mm diameter traveller set. A larger diameter implies a larger cross section to be concreted and consequently, the formwork elements may suffer greater load decompensations. Therefore, the stability of the structure must be guaranteed under any load situation. This aspect is fundamental, both for the shell and for the traveller that supports it.
