Synaespatia: A Networked Musico-Spatial Virtual Environment

This installation responds to the MW:M25 theme of ""Transform"" by exploring the intersection of music, sound, and space through an immersive virtual landscape where musical data becomes a dynamic, real-time soundscape. It introduces the concept of ""Synaespatia"" - the experience of sound and music within spatial domains - realised through a Networked Music-Spatial Virtual Environment (NMSVE) (Ham & Woessner, 2024). The NMSVE merges digital musical instrumentation with virtual reality spatialisation, extending instruments like keyboards and drum kits into tools that generate expansive electronic soundscapes and adaptive virtual environments.

This convergence enables new modes of ""musico-spatial"" performance, where sound and space evolve together as interconnected creative dimensions.
