Project Pitch
Blue Lake Resort: The Blue Lake is located in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, Liberia, which makes it a perfect day trip from Monrovia. Historically, the Blue Lake was once an iron ore-mining site of the Liberia Mining Company (LMC), a British American iron ore mining company. LMC drilled nearly 5,000 feet deep in pursuit of blue diamonds. As they dug, water began emerging to uncontrollable levels, covering light poles, vehicles and equipment, ultimately shutting down mining activities and leaving behind an amazing blue lake destination. Untouched Paradise: The Blue Lake is known for its stunning beauty and lush landscapes, yet lacks accommodation. Growing Tourism: Liberia’s peace stability and improved air connectivity are driving tourism growth. First-Mover Advantage: No existing ecolodge resort in the area; opportunity to set the standard. Community & Sustainability Focus: Aligns with impact investment trends—creating jobs, supporting local culture, and using eco-friendly practices. Multiple Revenue Streams: Hiking, wellness retreats, cultural tours, weddings, and corporate getaways.
