A WELCOME FROM LGC DEPUTY EDITOR, MARTIN GEORGE:

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you back to Leeds for the LGC Investment & Pensions Summit.

The timing could hardly be better. Now that everyone has had a couple of months to digest the government’s plans for the future of pooling, we have a valuable opportunity to come together and discuss them before everyone finalises their formal responses to the consultation.

But that is just one of the many hugely important topics we’re covering this week, from the LGPS’s role in levelling up to the importance of diversity, equality and inclusion, and many more besides.

There is certainly much to discuss, and I am sure that through the excellent speakers on our formal programme and the networking that will take place at the margins we will all come away with much to think about and talk about with colleagues.

So I would like to thank our sponsors, speakers, moderators, staff and delegates for what I am sure will be a hugely rewarding time together.
