LGC Future Places 2022

Welcome to LGC Future Places, the event for all those interested in creating healthy, sustainable and inclusive places where people want to live and work.

For our second in person event – and our first since before the covid pandemic - we have devised a programme featuring some of the most prominent figures in place-shaping, regeneration, planning, and construction to inspire you in your plans for your community.

There will be opportunity to learn from innovators nationwide, to give you support and inspiration to develop your place.

And, uniquely, this year’s event will run alongside Transforming Construction, a conference produced by LGC’s sister title Construction News. Through a series of roundtable discussions we will bring the two audiences together to discuss shared concerns such as levelling up, building community consent and optimising procurement processes.

We hope this will provide an opportunity to improve understanding between local government and developers and the construction industry who are essential partners in place-making.

LGC will report on many of the main sessions – they do not take place under the Chatham House rule – in order to bring our discussions to a wider audience still.

We are hugely grateful for the support and participation of our partners Capita, TPXimpact and Wilmott Dixon.

We ask that you remain until the end of the event on Thursday, as a courtesy to both speakers and partners. The event will finish promptly at 5.30pm.
