An introduction to the Awards from editor of LGC, Nick Golding:
Welcome to the LGC Awards 2020.
Local government is dependent on the dedication and innovation of its staff to function, especially at times of difficulty such as the present. On the afternoon of 28 October we celebrate their immense achievements.
By entering the LGC Awards you ensure other councils learn from your hard work, helping them to bring about higher quality, more efficient services.
And – after the immense effort shown by people across local government to protecting their community amid Covid – this feels like an opportune time to salute the work of the sector more broadly.
Congratulations to everyone shortlisted and I wish you the best of luck. I want to thank all entrants for sharing their achievements, our judges for giving up their time and our sponsors for their continued support.
